（注1）I don’t mind where you come from
リードボーカルが男性で、ビデオ内のシナリオも男性が一人称になっているのですが、歌詞は女性が第一人称でも通用するため、敢えて「わたし」「あなた」を用いています。

“take A for B” は「A（someone) を Bとみなす、思い込む、受取る」と解釈しています。

歌詞全般をとおして、主人公が一方的に「正常な人」で、相方が少し「放浪癖がある変わった人」というようにも聞こえますので「小さなことには目をつぶって『妥協』しよう」という解釈もあり得ます。が、ここであえて「妥協」ではなく「歩み寄ること」と訳したのは「このVerse 3 の文脈を「目に見える表面的な行動ではなく、目を開けていては見逃してしまう本質を考えると『みんな同じ』だ」と解釈したからです。

“All the Same” is the first single released from Sick Puppies’ 2007 album Dressed Up as Life, though it was first released on their self-titled EP a year before the album. It reached No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and featured in the Free Hugs Campaign.

Early career (1997–1999) 結成の経緯
The band was formed by singer/lead guitarist Shimon Moore and bassist Emma Anzai in the music room of Mosman High School in 1997, when they double-booked the room and bickered over who would get to practice. They soon bonded over their love of Silverchair. Initially with Shimon on drums and Emma on guitars, the duo would frequently meet up to play Green Day, Rage Against the Machine, and Silverchair songs, and eventually felt compelled to write their own material. When Chris Mileski joined the band to play drums, Emma switched to bass and Shimon to guitar and vocals, and they became Sick Puppies.
1997年にモスマン高校のある音楽室を、シンガー・リードギタリスト Shimon Mooreとベーシスト Emma Anzaiが別々に同時に予約（double-booked）し、どっちが使うかの口論になったのがきっかけ。すぐに、お互いが Silverchair（an Australian rock band formed in 1992）を愛する同士であることがわかり、2人でバンドを結成。当初はドラムにShimon、ギターにEmmaのデュオで、Green Day、Rage Against the Machine、Silverchairの曲を演奏していましたが、やがて自分たちの曲を書くことになり、Chris Mileskiがドラムとして参加、Emmaがベースに、Shimonがギターとボーカルにを担当し、バンド Sick Puppies となりました。
There are two stories as to how the band name was conceived. The official version is that Shimon Moore thought of the name himself when the band members were brainstorming, and then came home a few days later to find his father Phil reading the book Sick Puppy by Carl Hiaasen. The alternate version is that a neighbor’s dog entered the garage during a rehearsal and vomited on their equipment. An early fan made the comment, “That’s one sick puppy”, and the name stuck.
バンド名の由来には、2つの説があります。公式には、バンドのメンバーがブレーンストーミング中にShimon Mooreが思いつき温めていたところ、それから数日後に父親のPhilがCarl HiaasenのSick Puppyを読んでいるのを見て「これだ」となった、とされています。もうひとつは、リハーサル中に隣家の犬がガレージに入ってきて音楽機材に嘔吐してしまい、初期のファンが”That’s one sick puppy” と言ったのがはじまり、というものです。
Emma Anzai took up a job as a telemarketer and Shimon took a job holding a sandwich board in the Pitt Street Mall in Sydney. Through their own financing and with help from Shimon’s father (a musician and producer), the band released their debut EP Dog’s Breakfast.
当初は、Emmaはテレマーケティングの仕事、Shimonはシドニーのピット・ストリート・モールでサンドイッチ・ボードを掲げる仕事をしていました。それらの資金調達とShimonの父親（ミュージシャンおよびプロデューサー）の支援を受けて、晴れてデビュー EP Dog’s Breakfast をリリースしました。

The Free Hugs Campaign is a social movement involving individuals who offer hugs to strangers in public places. The hugs are meant to be random acts of kindness—selfless acts performed just to make others feel better. International Free Hugs Month is celebrated on the first Saturday of July and continues until August first.
フリーハグ・キャンペーンは、公共の場所で見知らぬ人とのハグをしよう、という自由参加による社会運動です。 ハグを「親切、無私を表す無作為な行動で、他者を元気づけるもの」と位置付けています。国際フリーハグ月間は、7月の第1土曜日に祝われ、8月まで続きます。
The campaign in its present form was started in 2004 by an Australian man known only by the pseudonym “Juan Mann”. The campaign became famous internationally in 2006 as the result of a music video on YouTube by the Australian band Sick Puppies, which has been viewed over 78 million times as of April 16, 2019.
現在の形のキャンペーンは、仮名で「ジュアン・マン “Juan Mann”」とだけ知られているオーストラリア人によって2004年に始まりました。キャンペーンは、オーストラリアのバンドSick PuppiesによるYouTubeのミュージックビデオとしてリリースされ、2006年に国際的に有名になり、2019年4月20日の時点で78百万回以上視聴されています。

The first is the video of Juan Mann, a man in Sydney famous for initiating the Free Hugs Campaign. The video which has received over 77 million hits on YouTube to date has helped the band gain airplay in the U.S.

Another is the first video without the Free Hugs Campaign. It has a storyline about the lead singer and his love interest and the tumultuous relationship they are having. Between the girl’s presumed infidelity and temper tantrums, he presumably gives up on the relationship. The band is seen performing outside buildings and it later rains with the band performing in the rain.
もうひとつは、the Free Hugs Campaign のないバージョンで、バンドとして最初のビデオです。主人公リードボーカル Shimon、その恋人、そして二人の間の騒々しい（tumultuous）な関係が、ストーリーを構成しています。恋人の浮気の疑い、癇癪（かんしゃく）のなかにあって、主人公が離れていくことを暗示しています。後半は、雨の中で演奏するバンドのシーンで終わります。
